Beginning Acrylic Classes are generally two hours in length. The class encompasses how to work with acrylics, learn brush techniques, learn composition, read colors for highlighting and shading, and much more. Cost is $25 per class. Subjects offered are landscape, seascape, floral, and still life.
For simplication purposes, teacher's art supplies will be used during the first class. If student continues with more classes, he/she will provide their own supplies. A list will be provided by the teacher on what needs to be purchased.
I haven't updated this page in ions, but I now have three students--Susan, Eva, and Roger.
Susan started last year and she had no experience in painting, she never held a paint brush before. She has painted everything I have given her and has listened to everything I have said. Her growth has been amazing. Her latest project is the three giraffes and I'm so proud of her. We'll be tweaking them at the next lesson, and then the last two will be focusing on the background. Kudos, Susan, for a job well done!!!
Eva is my neighbor who is so talented--she loves to garden, is a great cook, and she loves to laugh. She loves to paint and is another fast learner--she just finished painting of a seahorse. She tried something new--add metallic bronze and mixed shiny gold to green to give a irridescidence to the colors. The painting came out great.

Roger's Work in Progress
Roger is taking watercolor lessons, and he is making great strides in letting the watercolors do the work. He comes from a background in engineering which involves control and precision, and his working with watercolors has been a big adjustment. I'm so proud of the progress he's making.

Jerri's Class Work
And Jerri is my newest student, and is taking beginning acrylics. She is a natural and is catching on fast. She has done landscape, seascape, and just finished this second seascape. Her next project will be floral.

I had two students today--Evelyn, grandmother, and Savannah, eight-year-old grand-daughter. Neither has worked with acrylics before, but they did a wonderful job. Hope they continue painting--they definitely have talent.
